Lol, what a good night I've had. I bought a CD a few weeks ago by a soul artist called Myron. Tonight, I was listening to it on headphones, whilst browsing the net. I came across a soulmusic website, this one:
http://www.soul24-7.com/
, when the first thing I saw on it was myron being interviewed, and it just so happened to be tonight. Coincidence! In fact, it was going to start 20 minutes after I saw that. Cool, cos I really like this guys music. I listened in via their streaming radio station linked from the site. Then, they announced he was playing at the jazz cafe in london on thursday, which is even better. Later, they announced a competition to win 2 tickets to the gig. To cut a long story short, I flooded them with emails, and won, \o/ ! So me and the girlsinger from my band who also loves this guys CD are going for free. I rang her, she's pretty excited. And the CD is called, (coincidentally again), 'Free', LOL! This is gonna be a great gig. He sounds like stevie wonder.
My nickname was vinnie,I wonder why
I used cooledit to record anytime the music died down, just in case they announced me, and they did, heh. Pocketime, you should get this CD, it's great. He plays everything himself on most tracks, and he's primarily a drummer. I'm gonna meet him after the gig, and get him to sign my CD, plus tell him I'm the one that won the tickets . Sorry for such a long post. I've never won anything from the radio, so I'm excited like a little girl. I would have been happy if I'd just won a bag of salt.

Alison crockett is there may 1st, so I'm definitely getting tickets for her. Also, I wish rachelle ferrell would do a gig. Man, this CD of hers, I can't stop listening to it, so tight. Recorded really well too.

I just got back from the Myron gig at the jazz cafe, and all I can say is WOW!!! This gig was off the hook. The grooves were slamming. I stood right behind the drummer all night. Spoke to him after thinking he was from USA but he was from london. He just had snare, floor tom, bass drum, hat, 2 crashes, one splash and a ride. All sabians, and all sounded gorgeous. Sonor kit, but that's the house kit that everyone plays there. Anyway, he played magnificently, plenty of tasty fills and deep pockets, lots of ghosting, displacement, in fact, you'd think it was terreon gully, poogie or erik tribett, he was just as good. Punchy and funky as hell. Leon...something, didn't catch it. He was damn good! And the music of course was fabuloso! Best gig I've ever been to I think.
